There are few companies as frequently mentioned (in Denmark) as one of the most inspiring and innovative as Joe & The Juice. The company continues its growth journey and set another record in its latest financial report, with revenues nearing 2.5 billion DKK. Last year, the American private equity firm General Atlantic acquired the majority stake in the Danish company. The firm invested over one billion DKK, providing the juice chain with a significant financial boost. As part of this, Nassef Sawiris, a partner at General Atlantic, joined the board of directors.
In addition to being Egypt’s richest man, Sawiris is the driving force behind OCI Global, a leading player in the fertilizer industry. He also holds significant stakes in Adidas and the football club Aston Villa. Ranked 325th on Bloomberg’s list of the world’s richest individuals, Nassef Sawiris is a prominent figure in global business.
But this time, it’s not about him. At least not entirely. Sawiris has chosen to step down from the board and instead pass the seat to his 26-year-old daughter, Nadia Sawiris.
According to Joe & The Juice CEO Thomas Nørøxe, this move is not a sign of diminished engagement from the billionaire but rather a vote of confidence in the next generation of the Sawiris family.

Nadia Sawiris: A Young Profile with Global Experience
Nadia Sawiris holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Born in 1998, she is an American citizen. Despite her young age, she has already built a solid professional foundation through positions held in New York, Cairo, and London.
These roles were unrelated to her family and have been widely regarded by experts as a testament to her exceptional talent.
Joe & The Juice was founded in Copenhagen in 2002 by Kaspar Basse and has since grown to approximately 400 stores worldwide.
