Here are the most visited danish attractions in 2023

You can read the Danish version here.

2023 was another good year for a number of Danish attractions, according to VisitDenmark’s Attractions List. The 50 most visited museums, zoos, aquariums, and amusement parks attracted a total of an impressive 22.5 million Danish and foreign visitors. Copenhagen and North Zealand were by far the most popular destinations, underscoring their continued appeal as top destinations for both Danish and international tourists.

The impressive visitor number is actually even higher than the official figures. Our national stadium, PARKEN, should indeed have been included on the list. However, due to reporting methods, VisitDenmark only includes data from official sources, which are currently Statistics Denmark and Horesta.

PARKEN had 1,256,303 visitors in 2023 for FCK matches, DBU matches, and various concerts. This is an increase of 66.2% from the 756,000 visitors in 2022, meaning they would have narrowly placed ahead of Copenhagen ZOO in third place. An impressive feat for PARKEN.

According to our information, the rest of the list from VisitDenmark is correct.

Charlotte Rømer Rassing, Head of Analysis at VisitDenmark:

“The visitor numbers show that there is a great and broad interest in exploring Denmark. Across the country, there are museums that provide knowledge and reflection, experiences with laughter and thrills, and attractions where we can get close to the animal world. The numbers show that many other places in Denmark are worth visiting, and there is a growing interest in most of the attractions on this year’s attractions list. Looking at this year’s Top 50, there is an increase of 6.2% compared to 2022. We can measure this one-to-one at the individual attractions, but generally, it is difficult to compare with previous years’ attraction lists because this year’s list has been changed to only include attractions with official visitor numbers.”
